Artemis En Provence
FranceDescription
Built in 2007, this house was designed in respect of Mother Earth and her residents in the local style and materials. Solar panels integrated into the roof provide hot water and radiant floor heating. The walls, both interior and exterior, are treated in shades of ochre from the mines developed by the Romans in the first century CE that give Roussillon its character. The two self-catering units of 40 m2 have been created to welcome independent physically- and visually- challenged visitors to explore Provence. Each accommodation consists of a bedroom with a double bed (140), bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink, a separate space for storage, a kitchen and living space with electric stove and oven, dining table and chairs, television, and a sofa which can convert into bedding for two. Sit out on your wooden terrace for breakfast or drinks, read or snooze under the shade of 100-year old oaks, home to varieties of songbirds. On crisp winter evenings a pellet stove adds dancing flames. Maybe you’ll feel inspired to tinkle the ivories on the piano available to all. All linens are provided and the kitchens are fully equipped. Utilities are included in the rent, as are stove pellets. There is a common laundry room and on-site parking.
